We then made our way to Montecito and Santa Barbara.
Downtown Santa Barbara has been all spruced up with greenery and no on-street parking.
Since we couldn’t park in front of any of the many restaurants downtown in Santa Barbara, we headed to Goleta to eat. We were thinking Mexican but ended up going to a KFC for lunch. It was really good. The menu in California is different than at home. And the chicken is spicier.
We headed north to the Santa Ynez Valley over the mountains and found the sun again! We had never been to Solvang before so were interested in checking it out. Solvang was originally a Danish colony established by mid-western Danes who wanted to escape the snow. It retains a Danish look today and is quite the tourist destination.
We checked into the Best Western in Santa Maria for the night. Great hotel. They recommended A.J. Spurs down the street for dinner. This was the first course:
Too full to move much after the huge dinner. We watched Pawn Stars and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding...now addicted to both.
Your photographs are beautiful.
