In a dark, dark wood

Nora hasn't seen Clare for ten years. Not since Nora walked out of school one day and never went back.

There was a dark, dark house

Until, out of the blue, an invitation to Clare’s hen do arrives. Is this a chance for Nora to finally put her past behind her?

And in the dark, dark house there was a dark, dark room

But something goes wrong. Very wrong.

And in the dark, dark room....

Some things can’t stay secret for ever.

My Review

In a Dark, Dark Wood is the first book that I have read by Ruth Ware. It is a fabulous mystery, suspense novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

It is set in London and Northern England. Leonara Shaw is a mystery crime writer who lives alone in London and enjoys her solitary life. She is invited to an old friends hen party. Against her better judgement she decides to attend. She has no idea who her old friend Clare is marrying until she is at the hen party. The hen party is being held at an isolated vacation home in northern England.

The novel is beautifully written and filled with suspense. Until the murderer is revealed at the end, I was still undecided about who the murderer was.

Great book. Highly recommend.

Looking forward to more of Ruth Ware's books!
