My Review

Friendship is hard to define these days what with all of us having "friends" on Facebook who are often people we have never met.  I will admit to having "friends" I've never met...some are fellow bloggers and some are authors whose writing I admire.  True friendship is harder to define.  We all have so many acquaintances who we may call friends but can you call on them in the tough times?  I have friends who are people I've known almost my entire life.  Do I see them daily or talk to them frequently..no.  But when I need a true friend I know I can count on their support.

This lovely devotional which will be published on August 1st focuses on friendship.  This book understands that while a woman's most important human relationship will be with her spouse, a woman needs the support and love of her good friends.  In the introduction, it points out that "Who can understand the heart of a woman - with all its joys and triumphs, challenges and heartaches - better than another woman".  Each devotion begins with bible scripture which is then supported with a devotional written by one of the women involved with the Circle of Friends Ministry and other women authors.  There is a brief biography of each contributing author at the end of the book as well as a Scripture Index.

This inspiring devotional would be a lovely gift from one friend to another.

Proverbs 18:24

There are “friends” who destroy each other,
but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. NLT
