About the Author
Raised in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon, William Kent Krueger briefly attended Stanford University—before being kicked out for radical activities. After that, he logged timber, worked construction, tried his hand at freelance journalism, and eventually ended up researching child development at the University of Minnesota. He currently makes his living as a full-time author. He’s been married for over 40 years to a marvelous woman who is an attorney. He makes his home in St. Paul, a city he dearly loves.

My Review
Desolation Mountain is the seventeenth book in the Cork O'Connor series. I have read every book in the series and Desolation Mountain is an excellent addition.
The Cork O'Connor series is set in northern Minnesota. It is a beautiful wild unpopulated area that Krueger captures beautifully in this series. Desolation Mountain brings us to another part of the Iron Lake Reservation. A plane carrying the state senator has crashed into Desolation Mountain. Cork and his son Stephen are drawn to the circumstances around the crash as people start disappearing and government operatives fill the bush.
The Cork O'Connor series is the type of continuing series I like. Each books moves the family story along a little. The reader gets to know all the characters and look forward to seeing them again! Young Stephen is now very much an adult and is featured in this book.

I highly recommend Desolation Mountain. I also highly recommend you read the entire series.
