Port Coquitlam, BC to Bend, Oregon
We left home early, around 6:30 a.m. We crossed at Sumas after a fairly short wait of about 10 minutes. We rode down the 9 until we reached the 2 and crossed the Cascades over Stevens Pass where there was still snow lining the road. It was cold!!!
We had lunch at Perkin’s in Ellensburg. It was excellent! Crowded but they move people through quickly.
We rode the 821 between Ellensburg and Yakima. Beautiful road along the river. Excellent find.
Both Grass Valley and Shaniko in Oregon on the 97 seem like you’ve gone back in time.

The Holiday Inn Express in Bend was full so we stayed at the Quality Inn. Adequate but nothing special.
Dinner at Bobby Carino’s near the hotel. The waiter screwed up which chicken dish I wanted so we ended up getting it free. Somehow he heard Chicken Milano when I said Chicken Marsala.
